چکیده

Aim: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of tympanogram for diagnosis otitis media with effusion in patients conductive hearing loss. Study design: Cross-sectional study Setting: Department ENT, Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi. Duration dates: The was carried out over six months from 24-05-2018 to 23-11-2018. Methods: conducted on 150 patients. Clinical examination all done OME, then tympanograms were recorded and underwent myringotomy. OME myringotomy recorded. Results: average age 6.4±2.0 years. included 76 males (50.7%) 74 females (49.3%). averagelengthof disease (OME) is 18.5±10.3 months. Diagnostic findings taking as gold standard showeda sensitivity 99.2%, specificity 70%, a positive predictive value 97.8%, negative 87.5% an 97.3%. Stratification regard age, gender duration also out. This will help start early medication may us minimize number surgeries i.e. Conclusion: In conclusion, frequent group 6-12 children aged 2-12 years can be diagnosed using tympanometry more accurately. However, clinical other supportive audiological tests are necessary ultimate decision regarding treatment such chances false results exist. Tracing of Helicobacter Pylori in Patients of Otitis Media with Effusion by Polymerase Chain Reaction

Otitis media with effusion (OME) is one of the most common causes of hearing loss (HL) in children. It has been reported that several factors such as eustachian tube dysfunction, insufficiencies in the aeration of the mastoid cells, allergies, immunity, and infections play an important role in the etiology of the disease. Differences between children and adults with otitis media with effusion treated with CO(2) laser myringotomy.

BACKGROUND The safety and advantages of CO(2) laser myringotomy for otitis media with effusion (OME) are well described. The goal of such treatment is to avoid unnecessary ventilation tube insertion. Comparisons between different age groups treated with this modality are lacking, and prognostic factors for treatment outcomes are not available. METHODS We conducted a retrospective cohort study...
